Also called Impact Mapping methodology. It is typically applied by organizations dedicated to International development, to generate a real and measurable change on a social context. This can be a change in people’s way of thinking, behaviors, skills, etc., and it’s intended to be long term.

This methodology was developed by the Canadian International Development Research Centre, in an effort to make International development more organized and accountable. It usually involves three steps: Planning, Performance and Monitoring, and Evaluation.

Project management is the process of applying resources to achieve an objective within specific parameters.This objective may be to create a business or product, increase sales, etc.

#01 Planning

If the plan is not strong, the project most likely fails. The objective and path leading to its completion must be clear. Flexibility is important: a good plans allow space to implement changes if the obstacles are not allowing to continue.

#02 Resources

Time, money, people, and assets are essential and finite. They should be treated with respect. All the resources should be well defined in terms of quality (to choose the most convenient), and quantity (to not waste them).

#03 Communication

This includes having the processes well-documented and visible to the right members of the team, as well as clear instructions and reports. Respect, transparency, understanding and positive attitude are key elements.

#04 Evaluation

Monitoring the team and processes is the best way to make sure the project is moving into the right direction at the right pace. A lot of elements can be measured and improved, and today there are thousands of tools to do that.
